Wheresmylunch Ltd adopts a strict code of ethics associated to the use of psychometrics in the workplace. This is based on one of the core company objectives of transparency and fairness.
By using Wheresmylunch Limited to administer and feedback on psychological testing, the participant should understand exactly what to expect.
Deciding to use a psychometric test
All tests are used for a specific purpose as agreed with the BPS Level A or Level B certificate holder.
The decision to use a specific test is matched to a specific job requirement or outcome considering both its relevance, reliability and validity to the context that it is applied to.
Invitations to Test Session
To ensure that all candidates understand what is required from them, all candidates will receive written instructions from the administrator of the test which will confirm
a) Location and time of test.
b) Tests that will be undertaken and their immediate purpose in relation to the process that it is being used for.
c) If there are any special needs or disability requirements
d) Additional details concerning the use of psychometric assessment pertinent to its purpose.
Obtaining Background Information
As part of the written instruction, all candidates will have the opportunity to highlight any specific requirements to take the tests. This could be but is not limited to dyslexia, blindness, deafness, partial sight, or hearing impairment.
Please also be prepared to supply a medical certificate so that correct and specific guidance can be obtained from the test providers in advance of the test.
The Testing Session
A qualified administrator (to level required for administration of test) and named administrator will preside over the session. The administrator will be responsible for all the necessary materials (test scripts, pens, paper and any other equipment) pertinent to the test to be taken. The administrator will also be responsible as a named contact on the day of testing to resolve any issues associated with lighting, seating and temperature.
During the testing session, the administrator of the test will ensure continuity of testing by introducing the process and reading from a script which is specific to the test that is being taken and supplied by the testing body.
The test will be for a fixed duration which will be communicated at the start of the session. There will be no warnings of the imminent ending of the test.
There is also a capability to record any anomaly about the test . This could be, but is not limited to issues such as lateness or distraction.
Scoring and feedback
A qualified scorer (to level required to mark the test taken) will complete all the marking and interpretation of the test administrated by the administrator. It may be that the administrator and the scorer could be the same person, but only when qualified.
The qualified scorer will ensure that the test answers are marked in accordance with the standard scoring instructions supplied by the test supplier.
The marker will provide feedback to the selection panel and to the individual candidates as per the agreement with the contracting organisation.
It is important to note that Wheresmylunch Limited strongly recommends the incorporation of feedback into any assessment session and that this is built into any contract as standard. This applies to both successful and non-successful candidates. In the case of feedback to a selection panel, a recommendation based on the test results will be made to the organisation based on the specific job requirements being recruited or assessed.
Data Protection and Confidentiality
Data protection is important.
Our company policy is designed to protect you as an individual, and you as an organisation.
We will keep your test data confidential for a period of 3 months after which it will be destroyed.
However, in certain circumstance, the data will be stripped of all personally identifiable material and may be used for normative purposes.
If you do not wish for your data to be stored passed the 3 month period, please notify the Administrator. Wheresmylunch Limited will ensure that paper copies are shredded and electronic versions are deleted. This is the responsibility of the Administrator.
For confirmation, your data will not be attached to any part of your personnel file as it is only being used for the specific purpose of selection or assessment.
Your test results will be stored either in a locked filing cabinet at the Wheresmylunch Limited Registered Office or electronically secured in an AES encrypted data store whose only access point is via the Wheresmylunch Limited Test Administrator.
